Associate ProfessorElizabeth Westrupp

Associate Professor Westrupp's teaching expertise is in professional and clinical psychology training, with a particular focus on counselling skills, psychological assessment, and the design of authentic, competency-based assessment and feedback. She has substantial experience teaching and leading in large-enrolment, increasingly online environments, and in building students' work-readiness through industry partnership.

As Course Director of Deakin's Psychology Honours courses (the largest in Australia, with 250-460 students) and as Unit Chair across postgraduate and fourth-year clinical units, she led significant curriculum, assessment, and feedback redesign. Her teaching contributions were recognised as part of the Psychology Honours teaching team awarded the 2021 Deakin University Vice-Chancellor's Award for Teaching Team of the Year and the School of Psychology Premium Online Learning Award (2020). This expertise now informs her research training and graduate-research supervision, through which she develops higher-degree and early-career researchers across her program.
