BIO

Rachel is an early career researcher who has a range of research interests including student voice, the sociology of education, and social class. Rachel completed her PhD in 2022. Her project took a case study approach to investigating the relationship between the policy and practice of student voice in Victoria and highlighted how class, schooling, and affect mediate student voice enactment. Rachel is currently working on an Invergowrie funded project in collaboration with Swinburne University of Technology which aims to shed light on ways to increase the participation of girls in STEM and the role that student voice can play.
