BIO
Dieu Nguyen is a Research Fellow and PhD Candidate with Deakin Health Economics, where her work focuses on health equity, digital health, and burden‑of‑disease modelling across clinical and public health contexts. She is particularly interested in diseases that require ongoing, long‑term care and management, such as stroke and cancer.
Holding master’s degrees in Health and Human Services Management and Public Health from Deakin University, Dieu has contributed to influential research on sedentary behaviour interventions, mobile health app evaluation frameworks, the burden of paediatric ischaemic stroke, projections for bariatric surgery demand, and modelling the acute and post‑acute burden of COVID‑19. Her work spans systematic reviews, epidemiological modelling, quantitative analyses, and economic modelling, informing population‑level health strategies and service planning.
This expertise in health systems and disease modelling is further extended through her PhD, where Dieu aims to quantify the burden of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia in Australia using linked national data.
