Associate ProfessorVan-Hau Trieu

Dr. Van-Hau Trieu, an Associate Professor in Information Systems at Deakin Business School, specialises in harnessing digital technologies (including Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence)  effectively to maximise benefits for individuals, organisations and society. Her research also extends to the responsible use of these technologies for social good. Van-Hau is dedicated to integrating technological progress with meaningful social advancements, aiming to create a balanced approach where innovation meets organisational and societal needs.

Van-Hau is the recipient of top global awards for her research and contribution to the Information Systems discipline, including 2017 ACM SIGMIS Doctoral Dissertation Award and the 2023 AIS Early Career Award. She also received Deakin University Vice-Chancellors Award for Outstanding Contribution to Research and Innovation in 2022. 

Van-Hau 's work has appeared in MIS Quarterly, Decision Support Systems, and IT & People, among others. Over the years, Van-Hau has presented numerous research papers at international conferences including ICIS, ECIS, and PACIS. Van-Hau was the organising conference chair for Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS) 2022 and has served repeatedly as a Track Chair for ACIS and PACIS, and Associate Editor for ICIS, ECIS  and  AOM.

Van-Hau works with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and industries to establish linkages with their organisations. She is a member of the Association for Information Systems, and the Academy of Management.
