MrPavan Swamy

Pavan Swamy is a Sessional Academic at Deakin Law School.  Pavan has held many different positions across MLL334 Evidence, MLL336 International Commercial Law, MLL460 Mooting and Advocacy, MLP114 Criminal Law, MLP218 Criminal Procedure.  Since 2023, Pavan has also coached Deakin's Willem C. Vis Moot team.

Pavan practices law at MinterEllison in the Competition, Climate & Technology team with a focus on the health industry.  Pavan is currently completing a fixed term contract as Legal Counsel at Medibank Pty Ltd, where he predominantly advises on contractual, risk and regulatory matters.  Pavan also provides pro bono services as a Secondee Lawyer at the Justice Connect (Homeless Law) clinic.

Prior to joining the law, Pavan worked at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) for 9 years.  He was part of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) project implementation team and, subsequently, an affiliate lead analyst on the Parkville Precinct EMR implementation. Pavan was a member of a number of working groups, advisory groups and committees across the Parkville Precinct, including the RCH Clinical Ethics Committee, RCH Blood Management Committee, RMH Blood Management Committee, and Parkville Precinct Blood Advisory Group.

Pavan was also a co-founder and Director of Innovation at Insaight Pty Ltd, a social enterprise tutoring company aiming to provide all children around the world access to the best education possible.

Pavan holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Biomedicine (Neuroscience) from The University of Melborune. Pavan obtained his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law.
