BIO

I am an academic with proven success in research and teaching at Australian and European universities.

My research area is the Internet of Things (IoT) and its applications in defence, energy, health and transport applications. I have over 100 publications in high quality journals and conferences, with a H-Index of 20 and over $500,000AUD of research income.

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that students learn best when getting hands-on with technology, using real-world platforms to solve real-world problems. I am an advocate of student-centered learning, task based assessment and active learning.

I have led undergraduate and postgraduate courses in many areas of Computer Science and Software Engineering, using active-learning and student-centered approaches. I am a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia and a Certified Professional with the Australian Computer Society.

I am Course Suite director of Computer Science and Software Engineering.
