Dr. Dominika Howard’s research program is situated at the intersection of body image, technology-mediated sexual behaviours, and victimisation, with a particular focus on how these dynamics affect the psychological wellbeing of young people. Her work draws on both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to understand nuanced interpersonal experiences in digital and offline contexts. Her current work on sexual victimisation and body image focuses on the bi-directional relationship between trauma and self-perception, underscoring the compounding effects of violated bodily autonomy on body dissatisfaction, disordered eating, and exercise behaviours.
