RESEARCH INTERESTS
In 2011 Rose completed her doctoral research into experimental stereography,
looking at the possibilities inherent in technologies of visualisation such as
stereoscopic 3D and so-called virtual reality systems. This research used
ideas
from phenomenology, philosophies of the visual image, and vision science to
explore the thresholds of visual perception and the experience of real and
virtual spaces.
Post-doctoral research plans include a short film/animation production
('Mutlak'), developing curricula for stereoscopic imaging systems, and
research into the role and value of observational drawing in animation
pedagogy.
Knowledge Areas
Animation, social art practice, VR, visual perception and experimental
stereoscopy.
