BIO
Luke Keogh is a historian and curator. In most of his work there are plants,
environments and old things sprouting in some sort of wild garden. His
research and exhibitions have received many awards and prizes. Luke's book,
The Wardian Case: How a Simple Box Moved Plants and Changed the World
(University of Chicago Press, 2020) won the NSW Premier's General History
Prize, was Garden Media Guild's Garden Book of the Year, the Council of
Botanical and Horticultural Libraries Excellence in History winner and listed
as a Top 10 Book of 2020 by the American Horticultural Society.
Luke works at the intersection of environmental history and museum practice.
He has worked with museums and collecting institutions around the world,
including the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, the Deutsches Museum
Munich, the National Museum of Australia, the Queensland Museum and the Swiss
Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology. Luke has curated more
than 25 exhibitions. His exhibitions have won the Museums and Galleries
National Awards (MAGNA), the Australian Museums and Galleries Awards Victoria
(AMAGA) and Museums Asia Pacific Digital Awards (MAPDA).
