BIO
Dr. Omar Bashar is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Deakin Business School. His research focuses on Applied Macroeconomics, with a special interest in the Australian economy. His recent studies have explored issues such as the housing market and the resource boom in Australia. Dr. Bashar's work has been published in prestigious academic journals, including the Journal of Macroeconomics, Economic Modelling, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Accounting and Finance, and the Economic Record. At Deakin, he has taught a variety of courses, including Macroeconomics, Energy and Environment and Quantitative Methods in Economics and Finance. He has also held roles as Economics Discipline Coordinator, Director of Teaching in Economics, and Deputy Course Director for Bachelor of Business. He earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Melbourne.
