TEACHING EXPERTISE

Kate Lycett contributes to teaching primarily through research supervision across Honours, Masters and PhD programs. She supervises students working on topics related to wellbeing, mental health, and the economic and social determinants of health, with a strong focus on applied and policy‑relevant research. She welcomes enquiries from prospective Honours, Masters and PhD students interested in these areas.

 

As of mid‑2026, Kate has provided primary supervision to 19 postgraduate students (including 11 Honours, 2 Masters, 1 PhD and 5 graduate medical students. She is also currently the primary supervisor to three PhD students and  three early career research fellows.

 

Her supervision approach emphasises building students’ skills in research design, data analysis, and translation to real‑world impact. Kate works closely with students to support their academic development, helping them to produce high‑quality research while developing the confidence and capability to engage with complex public health challenges.
