I am a lecturer and researcher who is driven to forge strong ties between the screen industry and the academy. My PhD thesis examined the mechanics of creativity and collaboration in contemporary film and television production, exploring the visual concept as a mode of storytelling.

I am a graduate of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School and draw on industrial experience gained in senior crew roles on 13 feature films, 19 television series, 6 documentaries and 20 short films, along with music clips, TVCs and animation projects equating to around 300 hours of screen content from 1996- 2022.

Having worked mainly as an art director, my filmmaking knowledge is supplemented with knowledge of the principles and history of design and architecture, alongside the management skills required to bring projects in on time and on budget.

I was a co-founder of the global Production Design Research and Education Network (PD-REN) that currently has 150+ members from over 30 countries. I've been appointed on 15 committees and judging panels including the WA Department of Culture and the Arts Peer Assessment Funding Panel and as a state Vice President and federal delegate of the MEAA.

I also have also worked in contemporary music touring, production and promotion, for which I've received multiple project grants and award nominations.
