BIO
Dr. Alban de Vaucorbeil is a researcher specializing in Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME), focusing on developing advanced numerical and mathematical models to simulate materials behavior across various length scales.
As an Australian Research Council DECRA fellow, Dr. de Vaucorbeil's current research centers on optimizing metal recycling processes and enhancing energy efficiency through Solid State Additive Manufacturing techniques.
Dr. de Vaucorbeil is deeply involved in the development and application of the Material Point Method (MPM), a novel numerical model to simulate solids under large deformation. Notably, he collaborated with Vinh Phu Nguyen and Stéphane Bordas to co-author a comprehensive book on this methodology, covering its theory, implementation, and diverse practical applications.
