TEACHING EXPERTISE

 Daniel embeds his extensive research and applied science knowledge to Deakins teaching program from applications of Geographical Information Systems for environmental assessments to integrated catchment management. Daniel strives to educate students with the skills and experiences necessary to thrive in society and empower them to make decisions about their future.  His teaching emphasises mastery as opposed to performance-oriented goals, highlighting to students that their main purpose in studying is to learn, improve and master the material, rather than to merely demonstrate high ability in assessment. This approach empowers students to manage their own learning.
