BIO
Dr Robyn Yucel is a leader in teaching and learning who is passionate about the power of higher education to make a difference to graduates’ lives and the world. As Associate Director, DLF Learning Innovation in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE), she leads a team of 11 professional and academic staff to build academic capacity that results in meaningful and sustainable change in curriculum, assessment, and teaching practices.
Robyn leads initiatives that impact policy, practice and the student experience in SEBE and across Deakin. Guided by her deep engagement with higher education research and scholarship, she translates sector-wide challenges into frameworks, resources and professional learning opportunities that suit the context of SEBE disciplines.
Robyn has an international reputation as a critical realist scholar focusing on higher education. She is a member of the editorial committee of the Journal of Critical Realism and provides expert lectures and mentorship for emerging critical realist scholars internationally. Her ongoing research in ‘The Nature of Science’ in undergraduate science education has been recognised nationally.
