BIO

I was born in the United Kingdom and have been living and working in Australia
since 2003.

I qualified in medicine at St Mary's Hospital Medical School in London in
1988. I also obtained a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of London in
1998.

I trained in psychiatry at St Mary's Hospital, St Charles Hospital, Northwick
Park Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in
London.

I became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the UK in 1993, and
a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in
2003, where I am also a member of the Faculty for Psychiatry of Old Age.

I have held consultant psychiatrist positions at University College London
Hospitals NHS Trust, Barwon Health, Geelong, Southwest Healthcare, Warrnambool
and at The Geelong Clinic. I have been a consultant psychiatrist since 1998.

I established telepsychiatrist.online in 2017 in reponse to the shortage of
psychiatrists in regional and rural areas of Australia.

I have been published widely with more than 50 journal articles and book
chapters on psychiatry.

I hold an academic position as Clinical Professor at Deakin University in the
medical school and teach psychiatry to medical students. I am also an examiner
and assessor for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of
Psychiatrists.
