DrJamie Byrne

Dr Jamie Byrne is a Clinical Psychologist and clinician-academic whose work bridges contemporary clinical practice, research and psychology education. Her research and professional expertise focus on translating evidence into real-world practice to improve mental health care, clinician capability and community wellbeing.

Her research spans sleep and health behaviours, Schema Therapy, and LGBTQIAP+ mental health. She has a particular interest in developing and evaluating evidence-based interventions, translating research into clinical training, and supporting health services to implement innovative models of care. Her work combines clinical, behavioural and psychological approaches to address complex mental health presentations and improve outcomes for diverse communities.

Alongside her research, Dr Byrne leads curriculum and clinician education in counselling skills and psychotherapy, with expertise in developing practice-ready psychology graduates. She works collaboratively with health services, professional organisations and community partners to translate contemporary evidence into clinician education, workforce development and community-facing resources.
