BIO

Dr Pejman Heidarian is an Associate Research Fellow at Carbon Nexus at the Institute for Frontier Materials (IFM), Deakin University. His research focuses on polymer properties, smart and functional polymer materials, sustainable polymer systems, and advanced polymer characterisation. His work spans self-healing hydrogels, soft functional materials, biopolymer composites, sustainable composites, and structure–property relationships in advanced polymer systems. His research expertise includes rheology, viscoelasticity, polymer processing, and advanced characterisation techniques including DSC, DMA, FTIR, XRD, NMR, SEM, and mechanical testing. He has contributed to ARC-funded and industry-collaborative research projects involving sustainable polymers, smart materials, and advanced composites. Dr Heidarian has authored 41 peer-reviewed journal publications, with over 1,250 citations and an H-index of 23. His research has been published in journals including Carbohydrate Polymers, Biomacromolecules, Advanced Fiber Materials, Advanced Composites and Hybrid Materials, and Resources, Conservation and Recycling.
