BIO

Surbhi is a PhD candidate at Deakin University, affiliated with the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN). Her research focuses on the development of evidence-based digital health lifestyle interventions to support the management of chronic diseases. She is interested in investigating the role of dietary patterns, such as the Mediterranean diet, in improving outcomes for liver disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes, particularly within multiethnic and diverse population cohorts.

 

Surbhi holds a Master’s in Dietetics from Monash University and has over five years of clinical experience working as a dietitian in primary care, where she provides persaonlised, evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to support patients with heart disease, T2D, and liver disease. 

 

In addition to her academic and clinical work, Surbhi has presented her findings at national conferences and works as a research assistant within Deakin University’s Faculty of Health. Surbhi’s focus on translational research ensures that her work has real-world impact, directly informing her clinical practice while advancing the field of nutrition and chronic disease management.
