BIO
Matt Jennings is a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing and Practical Skill Development. Matt has a passion for improving efficiencies, whether that is bringing a product to market or a product in established production, as well sas integrating Distruptive Technologies to transform businesses. He graduated with a BEng Mechanical (Hons) in 2009 and undertook a PhD at Carbon Nexus, Deakin University, after a stint in industry as a QA Engineer in the Pharmaceutical field. Matt’s PhD researched the effect of resin rheology and flow during the processing of composites on mechanical properties. He has spent three years in industry as a Materials and Process Development Engineer and Lead Production Engineer at Quickstep and Partington Advanced Engineering, respectively. The work at these companies built on Matt’s material and process knowledge of thermoset composite matrix materials to aid in decision making and improvements to products getting to market. Matt uses this experience to create teaching and workshop content that is industry relevant and can prepare students and businesses for the future.
