RESEARCH INTERESTS

My PhD thesis, titled 'Negotiating Differences: Stimulating Creative Thinking through Critical Engagement' investigated the role of differences of opinion within groups on students' engagement in creative, critical thinking within the discipline of Geography.

In my post-doctoral research, I continue my research into effective instructional strategies within Humanities classrooms. Other areas of interest include; the transfer of knowledge and skills from pre-service teaching course to the classroom for graduate teachers and the experiences of pre-service teachers learning online. I am particularly interested in exploring the shifting nature of tertiary education and the interactions and impacts of AI within teacher education.

I am also interested in exploring differentiated strategies for inclusive pedagogical approaches within the learning environment, with particular focus on supporting children with autism in the social experience of schooling.
