BIO
I am a Senior Research Fellow in cognitive and clinical neuroscience within the School of Psychology at Deakin University, where I co-lead the Brain Systems and Neurotherapeutics (BSN) Lab. My team and I investigate how large-scale brain networks support cognitive and behavioural processes across development and in psychiatric, neurological, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
My research integrates functional neuroimaging (EEG) and non-invasive brain stimulation to study how the brain communicates across regions (functional connectivity), adapts to experience (neuroplasticity), and regulates the balance between excitation and inhibition. An overarching aim is to identify brain biomarkers that can inform biologically grounded diagnostics and precision-targeted interventions for developmental and psychiatric conditions, including autism, depression, and schizophrenia.
I received my PhD in Neuroscience from Monash University in 2018. I joined Deakin on an Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in 2020, having previously held postdoctoral fellowships at the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (Melbourne; 2018-19) and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (University of Toronto; 2019-20), and completed training in computational neurostimulation as a visiting scholar at Duke University (USA). I also bring over a decade of clinical experience in diagnostic neurophysiology from the Department of Neuroscience at The Alfred Hospital. I have published over 70 peer-reviewed articles and co-developed open-source software pipelines for processing EEG data.
