and modern military history.

Major focus on conventionbal war and the trajectory of future war, Aritifical
Intelligence, Robotics, and future technologies of war

Projects
Hashim's current projects include the following book projects to be completed
in 2021: a. Iranian Ways of War: From Cyrus to Qasim Soleimani, (NY: Oxford
University Press); b. "Mighty Melians": the construction of national security
and defence capabilities in Qatar, the UAE and Singapore (London: Hurst); c.
the edited volume entitled the Encyclopedia of Strategic Studies (London:
Edward Elgar).

Articles slated for the next year include: a. Carl Schmitt's Theory of War and
International Order; b. Can Asians Fight: Structural Impediments to Military
Effectiveness in the militaries of India, Japan and China; c. the PAVN as
Asymmetric Warfare Exemplar: Vietnamese Ways of War; Assessing the theories of
Future War and the Future of War.

Prepare to teach the Future War Module and to assist colleagues in other
modules in the next academic year.
