    Simone was an inaugural Editorial Board member, invited by Professor Corneel Vandelanotte (H-index 80), for the new Journal of Activity, Sedentary and Sleep Behaviors, and was subsequently appointed Associate Editor in 2024. The journal has since received its first: impact factor 3.3 (June 2026, Clavariate), placing it as a Q1 journal in Sport Sciences.

    The Building Future Leaders course is a six-month leadership development program for mid-career researchers focused on communication, collaboration, and strategic decision-making. Last year, the program supported 23 mid-career researchers globally through workshops, mentoring, and networking activities.

The program provides a platform for mentees and mentors to be matched based on interests and availability. As chair of the mentoring program team, I was responsible for rebranding the mentoring initiative in 2023.
