Dr Zouhir Gabsi is a senior lecturer in Arabic and Islamic Studies at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. He also served as a Course Director (languages) from 2022 to 2025.
For two consecutive years, 2024 and 2025, Zouhir Gabsi was named Australia's leading researcher in Middle Eastern and Islamic studies by the Australian Research Magazine.
Zouhir Gabsi has broad research interests, including Discourse Analysis, minority languages, and, more recently, Islamophobia, the Arab Spring, Youth Identity, and Islamic Discourse.
