BIO
Joshua Stow is an associate teaching fellow and research assistant at the School of Psychology, Deakin University, Australia. From July 2024 to April 2025 Joshua was the primary research assistant on an AOD implementation evaluation with national scope as a qualitative research specialist, focussing on evaluating outcomes of policy implementation in addictions treatment programs. Joshua also has several years of experience as a frontline AOD worker in Australia and Canada and has experience with high-demand and high-risk environments and clients, including youth and young adults.
Joshua’s professional interests include the impacts of pornography use on individuals, families, and society, with his honours research focusing on the barriers and enablers to parental discussions about pornography with their children. Joshua is a member of intergenerational Trauma Aware Geelong (https://www.in-tag.org) and worked with the team to facilitate a community summit on developing trauma, neurodiversity, and shame aware communities.
