BIO
Dr Md Palash Uddin is a Deakin University Postdoctoral Research Fellow (formerly known as the Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellow) with over 13 years of tertiary-level teaching and research experience across Australia and Bangladesh. His research focuses on trustworthy AI, federated learning, privacy-preserving machine learning, statistical machine learning, business analytics, AI security, edge intelligence, digital health, smart agriculture, data/model integrity verification, and copyright protection of AI models/LLMs/agents.
He has authored 125+ peer-reviewed publications, including 65+ Q1 journal papers, with 3,450+ citations, an h-index of 27, and three Web of Science Highly Cited Papers. His work has appeared in leading venues, including many IEEE Transactions, such as TPDS, TMC, TSC, TIFS, TCC, Big Data, Cybernetics, and Industrial Informatics, and ACM Computing Surveys. He also continuously contributes to the professional and outreach services in the community by reviewing manuscripts for esteemed venues such as IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TIFS, IEEE TSC, IEEE TIP, IEEE TGRS, IEEE JSTARS, etc.
Alongside research, he is actively involved in HDR supervision, currently co-supervising 11 PhD candidates. He has taught and supported students at Deakin University, RMIT University, HSTU, and Central Women’s University in areas including AI, machine learning, real-world analytics, programming, algorithms, pattern recognition, and data science. Moreover, he was recognised as a coach and a participant in various international and national programming contests, including the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, the National Collegiate Programming Contest, the National Girls' Collegiate Programming Contest, and the Inter-University Programming Contest.
In recognition of the potential research outcomes during my Ph.D. study, he received the "Student Excellence Research Award", the "Most Progressed Award", and the "Best Presentation Award". For research excellence in the MSc session, he received the "Best Paper Award" for two IEEE conference papers and one journal paper. During his BSc tenure, he was honoured with the "Prime Minister Gold Medal" from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, the "UGC Merit Scholarship" from the UGC of Bangladesh, and "The Dean's List Award" for three consecutive academic years from the Faculty of CSE of HSTU, Bangladesh.
His broader mission is to develop secure, reliable, explainable, and privacy-preserving intelligent systems that translate advanced AI and data science into real-world impact across healthcare, cybersecurity, agriculture, business analytics, and distributed computing.
