BIO
Dr. Md Palash Uddin is currently a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the School of Information Technology (IT), Deakin University, Australia. He earned a Ph.D. degree in IT from Deakin University, Australia. He also obtained a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Bangladesh, and an M.Sc. degree in CSE from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh. His focal research interests include federated learning and machine learning and their application to data privacy, security, & integrity verification, and remote sensing image analysis.
In recognition of the potential research outcomes during his Ph.D. study, he received the "Student Excellence Postgraduate Research Award", the "Best Presentation Award", and the "Most Progressed Award" at the Annual Conferences of School of IT. For research excellence in his MSc tenure, he received the "Best Paper Award" for two IEEE conference papers and one journal paper. During his BSc study, he was honoured with the "Prime Minister Gold Medal" from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, the "UGC Merit Scholarship" from the UGC of Bangladesh, and "The Dean's List Award" for the first three consecutive academic years from the Faculty of CSE of HSTU, Bangladesh.
Additionally, he has been working as a faculty member in the CSE department of HSTU, Bangladesh, since 2013 and continues to hold the position with current study leave permission. As such, he boasts over a 10-year professional career in the fields of CSE and IT. Moreover, he is recognised as a participant as well as a coach in various international and national programming contests, including the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, the National Collegiate Programming Contest, the National Girls' Collegiate Programming Contest, and the Inter-University Programming Contest.
He is actively contributing to the research community, having published many refereed journal and conference publications in leading venues, including IEEE TPDS, IEEE TSC, IEEE TMC, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, and ACM Computing Surveys. He also continuously contributes to the professional and outreach services in the community by reviewing manuscripts for esteemed venues such as IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TIFS, IEEE TSC, IEEE TIP, IEEE TGRS, IEEE JSTARS, etc.
