BIO
Dr Teketo Kassaw Tegegne is a Research Fellow in Epidemiology at Deakin University's Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition. With a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from the University of Newcastle, he has expertise in health data science, epidemiology, and spatial modelling. His research spans digital health, public health, preventive intervention evaluation, and spatial epidemiology, including innovative projects such as a machine-learning study analysing wearable camera data to identify self-management behaviuors in heart failure patients, and an NHMRC-funded Smart Home system for heart failure care. His work with the UK Biobank also addresses risk behaviuors on a large scale.
