TEACHING EXPERTISE

Dr. Ruwini Cooray has extensive teaching and supervisory experience across multiple levels of higher education. At Deakin University, she has lectured and tutored in core modules including Microbiology, Genetics and Genomics, Advanced Cell Biology, and Cells and Genes, bringing a strong integration of theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory skills. She has supervised undergraduate research projects, honours theses, and PhD candidates, guiding students in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing.

 

Beyond formal teaching, she has mentored and supervised students from diverse backgrounds in Australia and internationally, fostering research capacity and professional development. Her commitment to teaching emphasises critical thinking, hands-on skills, and translational relevance, preparing students to contribute effectively to both academic and applied research environments.
