BIO

Dr. Srikanth Thudumu is a visiting researcher at Deakin University's Applied Artificial Intelligence Intiative (A2I2). Prior to this, he worked as a Senior Research Fellow, specialising in translating AI research into practical, industry-relevant solutions. 

 

As a Chief Investigator, he has secured over $1.18 million in funding, including grants from the Australian Department of Defence and various industry partners. His collaborations with the Department of Defence and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) have led to the development of innovative solutions such as an AI-powered, mind-controlled autonomous wheelchair (using the NeuroNode interface), a context-aware search engine, and an AI platform for merchandise image processing.

 

Dr. Thudumu's expertise and leadership in these projects have received both national and international media coverage, including features by CSIRO, The Hindu, The Times of India, iTWire, and Yahoo Noticias.

 

His research interests include Anomaly Detection, Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), Object Tracking, ML Operationalisation, and ML Model Reduction & Compression Strategies. These areas are focused on addressing real-world challenges faced by businesses and organisations. Dr. Thudumu has published in leading academic journals and presented at top-tier conferences, ensuring his research has both academic and practical impact.
