BIO

Morgan Stonebridge is a Lecturer in the Deakin Law School. Her research analyses legal doctrines and institutions concerning animals through a critical lens that integrates legal and political philosophy. A key focus of Morgan's research, taken up most comprehensively in her PhD thesis, is exploring how stable support for other-regarding legal protections could be generated through empathy and education. Morgan also teaches a variety of units, including animal law, human rights law, resolving disputes and legal communication, and equity and trusts.
