RESEARCH INTERESTS

As a criminologist my research sits at the intersection of policing, regulation, digital communication, and the socio-legal implications of emerging technologies.

My doctoral research examines the enforcement of COVID-19 restrictions in rural areas, focusing on the Mornington Peninsula Shire to challenge metro-centric assumptions in policing, public health governance and the regulaion of land.

My academic background includes co-authorship on “Defining Communication in a Digital Era”, a project that directly informs policy and regulatory debates on digital communication accessibility, and an Honours Thesis on identity theft and the role of non-state actors in cybercrime responses.

I am passionate about policing, law enforcement, police accountability, cybercrime, regulatory policy, emergency health responses, securitisation, spatial governance and rural criminology.
