TEACHING EXPERTISE
My teaching experience aligns quite closely with my research areas. I have designed and taught various units on the organisational use of digital technologies in both on-campus and online modes for undergraduate, postgraduate, and MBA audiences. Some examples of units I have had the opportunity to develop or co-develop include People Analytics, Artificial Intelligence Strategies, and Environmental Sustainability for Business at Deakin; Analytics and Consulting, Digital Strategy, and IS Consulting at UNSW Sydney, and Enterprise Applications and Architectures at The University of Melbourne.
I have also been involved with developing and leading education programs as Course Director (at Deakin) and Postgraduate Coordinator (at UNSW Sydney), looking after postgraduate courses and specialisations on Business Analytics and Information Systems Management.
My teaching approach emphasises critical thinking, analysing complex problems from multiple perspectives, and dialogue with and between students. This approach has developed over time, informed by the nature of the units I teach (which deal with complex and multi-faceted organisational problems, often without a single “correct” solution), student feedback on what helps them learn best, and my own learning experiences.
My current teaching interests include artificial intelligence, conservation technology, digital strategy, and technology consulting.
