BIO

Benny (BEng - Hons, MPhil, PhD) has a civil and environmental engineering background. He has worked as an engineer consultant, researcher, and lecturer in the water, wastewater, and sustainability sectors in South America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Pacific Islands and Australia.

 

Benny is passionate about conducting applied research with industry, leading to practical outcomes for communities, businesses, and government/international agencies. His previous work has encompassed smart use of data to inform water utilities planning and operations, from bulk water, treatment, supply, and disposal; international development on water and sanitation, encompassing both data-driven modelling and community engagement; and design and operation of nature-based solutions for wastewater and stormwater treatment.

 

Benny is currently (2025-2028) leading research on smart sewer and water systems funded by the DUPRF scheme and in partnership with Barwon Water.
