BIO

Darren is a PhD candidate working on fisheries ecology. His PhD uses a multi-disciplinary approach to investigate stock structure or rock flathead in south-eastern Australia.

Darren spent several years working in aquaculture, before relocating to Australia for further studies, where he completed a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Fisheries & Aquaculture) and Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours) at Deakin. He has a keen interest in fisheries science, particularly in fish ageing and acoustic telemetry.

In addition to his research, Darren also has a profound passion for teaching. Throughout his PhD candidature, he has been actively involved in different undergraduate units across all year levels in various teaching capacities.
