DrXuan Nguyen

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in the Discipline of Economics at Deakin Business School. My research interests include applied economics, international trade, and industrial organization. I have published extensively in these research areas in refereed journals such as Economics Letters, Economic Modelling, Economics of Transition and Institutional Change, Economic Record, Energy Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Review of Development Economics, Review of Income and Wealth, Review of International Economics, and The World Economy.

Since 2025, I have been serving as an Associate Editor for Politická Ekonomie (Political Economy), a journal with over 70 years of history. I am also a Program Co-chair for the Vietnam Symposium on Global Economy in HCMC (Vietnam), an international academic conference that attracts 30-40 speakers annually. I am a fellow of the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund, sponsored by the Tokyo Foundation.
