BIO

Carolina is a research fellow at the Global Centre for Preventive Health and Nutrition (GLOBE), a WHO Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention, at Deakin University.

Her research focuses on the design, implementation, and evaluation of food system policies aimed at addressing multiple forms of malnutrition and climate change by enabling the adoption of sustainable healthy diets early in life.

Carolina currently works in partnership with WHO EUROPE and Australia’s state and territory governments, investigating public food procurement policies, and consults with UNICEF in projects related to childhood obesity prevention.

She has experience in supporting policymakers in addressing real-world policy challenges, including those related to designing and implementing food classification systems to support food labelling and marketing policies in their countries.
