BIO
My professional background is as an early childhood teacher in preschools and childcare centres, and as a childcare centre coordinator. I also worked with the National Childcare Accreditation Authority as a moderator. I began my tertiary teaching career working on the TAFE children’s services diploma. I then began teaching on university early childhood teaching pre-service courses, as well as developing and establishing Master of Teaching courses at two universities. My research interests include outdoor learning environments, play, quality in childcare, and early giftedness. With colleagues I have worked with government and external organisations on a variety of projects, professional development programs and research activities in these and other areas of interest.
