BIO

I am a PhD candidate in the School of Psychology, affiliated with the Neuroplasticity and Multimodal Imaging Lab within the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit. My research focuses on using advanced network analytic approaches to explore the intricate relationship between brain structure, cognition, and emotion. By investigating how these systems interact, I aim to contribute to a deeper understanding of neural mechanisms underpinning mental health and cognitive function across the lifespan. Ultimately, this work seeks to inform the development of targeted interventions to improve mental health outcomes and cognitive functioning, within both clinical populations and the wider public.

In addition to my doctoral studies, I hold positions as a research assistant at Deakin University and as a casual teaching academic at both Deakin University and Deakin College. My teaching experience spans several units, particularly in introductory psychology and health sciences, including serving as Unit Coordinator for the health behaviour change unit at Deakin College. These roles have strengthened my communication and leadership skills, allowing me to foster a learning environment where students can connect academic theories with real-world applications.

As a research assistant, I have gained hands-on experience administering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as part of Deakin’s multisite randomized controlled trial (RCT) investigating the use of intermittent Theta Burst Stimulation (iTBS) in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This work has furthered my expertise in neuroscience techniques, enhancing my ability to contribute to cutting-edge clinical research.

Looking ahead, I aspire to continue contributing to the intersection of neuroscience and mental health, with a strong emphasis on applying research insights to practical interventions. My goal is to cultivate a balanced career that allows me to pursue academic excellence, foster student learning, and promote wellbeing both inside and outside of academia.
