He has extensive experience in supervising research, clinical training and undergraduate and postgraduate course development, stemming from over a decade's experience as an academic in Ethiopia. He was an Epidemiologist and public health researcher and was a lecturer for Maternal Child Health, Reproductive Health, and Epidemiology courses at Wollega University.
