BIO
Eleanor Childs is a Graduate Researcher and Research Fellow in the Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation and a Sessional Academic in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Deakin University, Australia.
Eleanor has published several journal articles and scholarly book chapters on the destruction of cultural heritage in Iraq, Syria, and Palestine. She has also acted as a Research Assistant for the project 'After Islamic State: Local-State-Global Heritage Dynamics in Syria and Iraq' and will resume this position for the project 'Heritage and Displacement: Intersections of Exile, Culture and Conflict' in July 2026.
