DrClaudia Liu

Claudia is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Deakin’s School of Psychology. She recently completed her PhD which focussed on understanding engagement with digital mental health interventions. Claudia’s broader research interest also includes developing and testing evidence-based digital interventions for body image and eating disorder concerns.

Despite her early career stage, Claudia has established a strong research track record, publishing in high impact journals and co-ordinating complex digital health and school-based intervention trials. She also serves on the editorial board for Body Image and The International Journal of Eating Disorders. 

In 2024, Claudia was a part of the initiative commissioned by the Australian federal government to evaluate, and provide policy recommendations for, the Eating Disorder Medicare Benefits Schedule items. And more recently, she has been working alongside Dr Hannah Jarman on an MRFF funded project evaluating the Butterfly Foundation’s Body Bright program in Victorian primary schools.

She also co-manages the social media account @The.Wellbeing.Doctors with Hannah, which aim to make psychology research more accessible to people.
