BIO

Marika completed her PhD at La Trobe University, Melbourne in 2019. Marika is an interdisciplinary researcher, and her research looks at the intersections between health, ageing and work (both informal and formal) with a focus on how capital shapes agency and opportunities for ‘living well’. Prior to joining Deakin university, she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Macquarie University in the Centre for Workforce Futures, and as a qualitative researcher at the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales and in the not-for-profit sector. She is presently working on an ARC DP project examining the demographic and social dimensions of migrant ageing and wellbeing in Australia, led by Professor Lucy Taksa. She is a member of The Australian Sociological Association (TASA) and Australian Association of Gerontology
