Dr. Dylan Scanlon is a Senior Lecturer in Health and Physical Education at Deakin University's School of Education. His research interests encompass a range of areas within education, including:
- Initial teacher education

Before joining Deakin University, Dr. Dylan Scanlon completed his PhD and taught in teacher education at the University of Limerick, Ireland. He then moved to Dublin City University, Ireland, to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in assessment in higher education (title: 'Transforming Experiences of Students Through Assessment'). Dr. Scanlon joined Deakin in 2022 as a teacher educator/lecturer in Health and Physical Education in the School of Education.

- Research Leadership: Dr. Scanlon has demonstrated leadership in creating and sustaining research projects at institutional, national, and international levels.
- High-Quality Publications: He has an extensive publication record in top-tier journals related to physical education teacher education and general teacher education. Since 2019, Dr. Scanlon has over 40 publications, demonstrating his active engagement in research and contribution to the field.
- Impactful Research: His research has influenced curriculum policy development and has been shared with a wide range of audiences, including working with policymakers at the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (Ireland) and Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (Australia).
