BIO
With over 10 years of perioperative nursing experience, Ry is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and supporting others to grow within the profession. Specialising in urology, endoscopy and plastic surgery, Ry has primarily worked as a scrub/scout nurse, while also being trained in anaesthetics and recovery.
Throughout his career, Ry has taken on a range of senior and education-focused roles, including Perioperative Clinical Nurse Specialist and Perioperative Professional Development Nurse. These positions allowed Ry to mentor colleagues, enhance team performance and promote best practice in the operating suite.
In addition to clinical work, Ry has spent the past four years lecturing at Deakin University, teaching and assessing within the Bachelor of Nursing course. Ry is deeply committed to empowering nursing students to build confidence, think critically, and develop into compassionate and capable healthcare practitioners.
Ry is currently completing a Master of Advanced Clinical Nursing Practice, and previously holds qualifications in perioperative and advanced clinical learning, having completed both Graduate Certificates and Diplomas. Ryan continues to combine hands-on expertise with a genuine love for lifelong learning, teamwork and education.
