Mr Sudarshan Dhakal is a graduate researcher at School of Life and Environmental Sciences, Deakin University.
His current work focuses on the extraction, isolation and characterization of marine derived complex lipids; the glycoconjugates.
Using the LC-MS/MS approach, he aims to characterize several bioactive glycolipid molecules present in underutilized marine biomass.
He has a Masters degree in Biotechnology from Deakin University with a major research thesis in the area of bioactive natural product extraction and characterization.
His undergraduate background is in Plant and Agricultural Sciences which provided him with wider understanding of plant biochemistry, molecular genetics and biotechnology.
He aims to further his research career at the interface of biochemistry and biotechnology, extracting a range of interesting molecules to better understand their structure-activity and potential applications as dietary supplements and therapeutics.
