Associate ProfessorMichael Finch

Mike is Head of Teaching and Learning at the Centre for Future Defence and National Security. In this role he oversees the coordination, development and implementation of curriculum across courses run by the centre.

He has deep experience in teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, in both civilian and military environments. His experience in military education spans both Australia and the United Kingdom, having served as an embedded academic staff member at the Joint Services Command and Staff College, Shrivenham, prior to moving to Australia.

He has taught across a range of programs and courses encompassing multiple disciplines in the study of war. His specialism lies in historical approaches to the study of war, particularly in relation to strategic and military thought.
