BIO

I am a Lecturer in the School of Psychology at Deakin University and a member of the Cyberpsychology group, the Mental Health Care Stream and Intervention Sciences within the Centre for Social and Early Emotional Development (SEED).

My expertise is in technology research with families. My research explores digital childhoods and digital families from a developmental psychology lens. I am particularly interested in the impact of joint media engagement, parent device use and child device use on parenting and children's development. My interests also include the design of apps to support positive joint media engagement, social media use in families and technology use amongst older adults. I have experience in systematic reviews, qualitative research designs, observations studies and quantiative analyses.

I am passionate about the opportunities and challenges for families and child development which are created by technology. I have contributed to debate and understanding of digital families through national mainstream media outlets including the Herald Sun, ABC news and News Breakfast.

I welcome expressions of interests for Honours, Masters and PhD supervision and wish every student well on their own psychology journey.
