MsIrin Sultana

 

Irin Sultana is an interdisciplinary researcher at Deakin University with expertise spanning analytical chemistry, ecotoxicology, ecology and spatial analysis. Her research integrates laboratory-based chemical analysis with ecological and spatial approaches to investigate environmental contaminants and their interactions with biological and environmental systems.

Irin completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Life and Environmental Sciences at Deakin University, where she developed and applied analytical approaches to investigate emerging contaminants affecting aquatic birds. Her research combined high-resolution mass spectrometry, environmental sampling, ecological field data and spatial analysis to examine pesticide occurrence across biological and environmental matrices and explore relationships with landscape characteristics in Victoria, Australia.

 

She currently works as a Research Assistant at Deakin University, contributing to industry-linked research in dairy biochemistry and proteomics. Her current work involves protein sample preparation, analytical laboratory workflows, proteomic analysis and data interpretation, broadening her analytical expertise across environmental and biology-related research.
