BIO
Dr. Sheikh Tanzim Meraj received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2015, and the M.Eng. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Curtin University, Miri, Malaysia, in 2018. He completed the Ph.D. degree with the School of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment, Deakin University, Geelong, VIC, Australia, in 2026.
From 2019 to 2022, he worked as a Graduate Assistant (GA) with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Perak, Malaysia, where he also served concurrently as a Tutor. At Deakin University, he worked as a Casual Research Assistant from 2023 to 2024 in collaboration with AusNet Services, Melbourne, VIC, Australia. He also served as a Sessional Academic and Graduate Research Teaching Fellow (GRTF) from 2024 to 2025. He subsequently worked as a Research Assistant in a project jointly funded by Deakin University and Xcel Tech, Loganholme, QLD, Australia.
Dr. Meraj is currently an Associate Lecturer with the School of Engineering, Deakin University, where he is involved in teaching undergraduate units in control systems, power engineering, and renewable energy systems. His research interests include power electronics, power quality, renewable energy integration, energy management systems, hydrogen energy, and grid-connected energy applications. He also serves as an active reviewer for multiple IEEE Transactions journals.
